Company Overview
Our company is looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing, building, and maintaining data infrastructure, as well as experience with various data warehouse stacks. Familiarity with Azure or open-source solutions is highly desirable. This position offers the flexibility of remote work while also requiring occasional extensive travel.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable data pipelines to support data ingestion, transformation, and integration from various sources.
- Work with various data warehouse stacks, including both commercial and open-source solutions, to ensure optimal performance and data integrity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists and business analysts, to understand data requirements and develop efficient solutions.
- Monitor and optimize data pipeline performance, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of data to stakeholders.
- Implement and maintain data quality and governance policies, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation for data pipelines, data models, and other relevant artifacts.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to continually improve our data infrastructure and processes.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members as needed.
- Support the team with occasional extensive travel as required for project-related tasks or meetings.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of experience as a Data Engineer, with a focus on data warehousing and big-data ETL (Spark/Flink) processes.
- Strong experience with various data warehouse stacks, such as Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, or Teradata.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
- Familiarity with Azure or open-source data solutions is a plus.
- Knowledge of
- Experience with data integration tools and platforms, such as AirByte, Dagster or DBT.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, data structures, and database design principles.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel extensively as required.
