Company Overview

Our company is looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing, building, and maintaining data infrastructure, as well as experience with various data warehouse stacks. Familiarity with Azure or open-source solutions is highly desirable. This position offers the flexibility of remote work while also requiring occasional extensive travel.

Responsibilities

  1. Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable data pipelines to support data ingestion, transformation, and integration from various sources.
  2. Work with various data warehouse stacks, including both commercial and open-source solutions, to ensure optimal performance and data integrity.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists and business analysts, to understand data requirements and develop efficient solutions.
  4. Monitor and optimize data pipeline performance, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of data to stakeholders.
  5. Implement and maintain data quality and governance policies, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with industry standards and best practices.
  6. Develop and maintain technical documentation for data pipelines, data models, and other relevant artifacts.
  7. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to continually improve our data infrastructure and processes.
  8. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members as needed.
  9. Support the team with occasional extensive travel as required for project-related tasks or meetings.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  2. 2-5 years of experience as a Data Engineer, with a focus on data warehousing and big-data ETL (Spark/Flink) processes.
  3. Strong experience with various data warehouse stacks, such as Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, or Teradata.
  4. Proficiency in SQL and experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
  5. Familiarity with Azure or open-source data solutions is a plus.
  6. Knowledge of

  8. Strong understanding of data modeling, data structures, and database design principles.
  9. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  10. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  11. Willingness to travel extensively as required.
